Jeff - I haven't got the lights installed yet (they are still on order). For the placard, I was just going to use a label maker.

So I haven't seen the 337 for these lights yet, and I'm curious now - what do you have to put on a placard to satisfy the FAA?Tim H wrote:Jeff - I haven't got the lights installed yet (they are still on order). For the placard, I was just going to use a label maker.

Re: LED Landing / Taxi lights for the DA40
Doesn't this PMA suffice to make it legal? It seems to be for a PAR 36 light but lists the DA40 as an approved model. Since the DA40 doesn't have a PAR36 light, what's the point?

Re: LED Landing / Taxi lights for the DA40
I contacted Bob Ramirez at the Diamond Service Centre in Wichita KS. He looked up and found the field approval.
He contacted the local FAA guy and said the approval is already done, no issues.
I am taking my plane in in a couple of weeks for the LED landing, taxi and position lights conversion (during the annual). Only issue was the lights being back ordered from the manufacturer.

Re: LED Landing / Taxi lights for the DA40
I should say, done for my plane based on the other field approval already being circulated for the Diamond.

Charles-
The Whelen PMA lists a different part number than what is used on the Diamonds. Not sure why Diamond A/C would be listed.

Re: LED Landing / Taxi lights for the DA40
I know but that's the only Whelen PMA available for the DA40 and it's for a light that would never fit. Go figure...
Brad, is the approval based on a PMA? Can we expect to see it anytime soon?

I will call tomorrow. He said the field approval for mine was complete. Just waiting on the parts to ship from the factory.
