Fuel tank leaks
An aircraft which I have been considering buying (DA40 XL) has had 2 pin hole leaks in the right wing and one in the left over the space of 3 years. The tanks were replaced and I was wondering if this is a common problem and how concerned to be about it.

Re: Fuel tank leaks
On my first annual (nine years ago), we found a small leak where the fuel line from the tank is connected. It was corrected by simply tightening the fitting. The aircraft had been disassembled for shipping from Austria to Canada...
No leaks since.

Re: Fuel tank leaks
no problems here either. 450 hour 2007 XL.
If you re looking at an XL ask when the electric fuel pump was replaced. this one is short lived.

Re: Fuel tank leaks
No leaks with my '07 XL so far, either. It's on electric fuel pump number four, though, at 1400 hours.

Re: Fuel tank leaks
No problem for us. We complied with the 5 years fuel hoses replacement in 2009.

&!@#¥€~!!!
Just found one in my fuel tank.
On the bright note, fuel flow sender problem turned out to be a broken wire.
But still... %#^*!
