EVERY Diamond has or will have the "popcorn" problem. We should have the stuff tested to find out it's content since it is in the air system and we breathe it into our lungs.

Hi Antione,
I did the "popcorn SB" with the anual in 2010, (MAS Leutkirch) it was not more the 200 EUR. incl work. Its is not completly solved, but much better since.

Re: DA-40 Recommended Service - Popcorn Insulation
You can stop this stuff from getting into the environmental system by removing the air box for the heater system at the firewall. Seal up the area on the firewall. You will see what the problem is by taking the valve/box off.
Just tell your mechanic to remove the box and inspect and repair as necessary. The problem is obvious and easily fixed. Getting the box off is a pain however because it is glued to the firewall with Proseal.
The problem is easily fixed and is like this because Diamond took a short cut and didn't seal off the area.
