Re: Engine Heater
Sounds like you are not having a good day Antoine...we have been luckily avoiding winter this year but I feel your pain from past experiences!Antoine wrote:Same as Eric, except I have no hangar, no power and my plane is sitting in 4 inches of snow on a frozen tarmac (( happy Xmas
Thomas, really nice picture. That must be some incredible scenery from the air.

Re: Engine Heater
Hi Thomas, yes it is a Reiff system. We switched the order from Tanis to get te 230V version (installed at Premier Florida, can you imagine THEM selling preheaters?Thomas wrote:Hi Antoine, I am thinking about installing a heater, do you have a 220V type. ... of course it came with a US plug on it. I have asked Aeortec to replace it but they forgot.
Beautiful hangar and pic btw

Re: Engine Heater
Hey folks, these phone operated switches sound great. What brand are they ? and what are they worth ? Mine is equipped with the factory heater but I have to show up pretty early at the airport for it to be of any value !

Re: Engine Heater
I just leave my plugged in all the time (in the winter), does anyone see this as a problem?

Re: Engine Heater
I do the same. It is recommended in the manual to do it this way but I would prefer a phone operated switch if it was possible.Tim H wrote:I just leave my plugged in all the time (in the winter), does anyone see this as a problem?

Re: Engine Heater
Same here. I would prefer not to waste electricity but the phone switch systems cost too much. My time is valuable, driving to the airport 30 min each way just to hook it up is also wasteful on gas and time.Graham wrote:I do the same. Re: Engine Heater
I live ten minutes from my airport. I plug in 12 to 24 hours prior to departure.
The drive to the airport for plug in gives me time to check things out well in advance of departure like
oil level, tire pressure, drain sumps and general miscellaneous stuff that I don't like to do day of departure.
