Baby/child restraints
Hi, finally took my baby daughter up in the '40. She loved it (fell asleep) for the entire 30min flight, but am abit concerned that the car seat we used didn't fit correctly, and although secure, not sure I would be comfortable to do any xc flights with any possibility of turbulence. she is 8mo old, but growing like a weed.....
The rear seats are quite deep, so does everyone have any experience in using car seats in the back of a DA40? I had a look at the other car seat we have, and it just won't fit properly with the bucket style seats.
Any advice appreciated.
Thx

Re: Baby/child restraints
Ok, I know it's an older thread, but I spent good hour fiddling with a rear-facing carseat in the back of the 40 today.
anyone found a solution that works? My only semi-decent idea was to fold the seatback, put the carseat on top and prop it up with something in the back as it gets pulled down by the seatbelt, rests on the folded down handle up front and just leaves the back hanging. I've got this - http://www.britaxusa.com/car-seats/chaperone without the base (I do have the bases, just don't think it will fit there with a base)

Re: Baby/child restraints
I fly with both my kids. My 4 year old son sits in his car seat. Not sure the brand but only one of our three car seats work. My 6 month old daughter uses a rear facing seat and seems to work with no issues, not sure of the brand of this seat also. My son and I fly together all the time, 1000 NM days are no problem. Enjoy flying with your children.

Thanks Matt!
Any chance you could find out the model of the seat you use for your daughter?
Thank you!

Re: Baby/child restraints
The best thing I found that makes any carseat or booster fit better back there is to put some appropriately sized and cut pool noodles under the back part of the carseat or booster seat. Otherwise, our backseat bottom slopes down so much that any carseat leans backwards too much. My 6 year old daughter currently sits on a small backless booster seat ($20 from target or so) with 2 cut pieces of pool noodles horizontally placed under the bottom back part, one thick fat one at the very back, then one medium sized one just in front of that. Even with the 2 noodles under it, it still slopes back a little, but just right

Re: Baby/child restraints
I recognize that this is an old thread, but need some advice. I've got an Angel Flight on Monday with a mother and her 6 month old daughter. She has a Graco infant seat for her daughter. Has anyone used this in the back seat of a DA40 or DA42? I took some measurements and I think it will fit but I'm concerned about the base working. I hope to try out a friend's seat first, but any advice/experience would be appreciated. Thanks. Bernie
