I did save a feather to send off.

Called Diamond (Premier) today they said $8300 for a new glass and 12 weeks to get it! Anyone have a lead on a salvage canopy? There is one on ebay https://www.ebay.com/itm/Diamond-DA40-1 ... 0167.m2940

but is has a crack around the co pilot side.

Thanks for the note about a clear canopy (I do live in Florida do you still think it is worth it?)

Would love to have the double bubble since I constantly had my helmet touching/scratching the canopy.

Call Diamond factory yesterday, they said no windscreen in stock, and it would be 12 weeks to get one. They said can't you just do a temp repair :) I don't think that is possible. They asked me to send a photo of the damage, and see if they could get permission to sell one from the production line.

Any chance anyone knows of a salvage DA40? I called Wentworth, and a couple of other places and it is a no go.

Surprising that they don't keep one or two spares in stock. At $8300 for $200 of materials, I would think they see a good profit, plus damage does happen in the field and they would certainly sell some.

Pulling parts from production aircraft on the line is not a good practice. Good luck on your search.

Something else: It looks like the vent window components are all separate part numbers from the canopy itself. You could presumably reuse your vent windows if you get the same canopy you have but you'll at least need the pieces that bond to the canopy (plus the glue required). I don't see a good way to remove those parts from the canopy for reuse.
