Glen de Vries, who was a passenger on last month's Blue Origin space flight, was killed on 11 November in the crash of a Cessna 172.

He apparently was a DA 40 owner (N274DS):

Not sure if he ever participated on this forum, but sad news nonetheless.

DA 40 owner killed in Cessna 172 accident
It was a diamond DA20 that was mentioned in one of the articles. I think you do have the solid evidence to prove it is a Diamond DA40.

Glen was a DAN member. Very sad, indeed. Condolences to his family and friends.

Re: DA 40 owner killed in Cessna 172 accident
I just learned of this yesterday. Very sad. Glen had been active on a number of threads, and appears to have flown N274DS out to Van Horn (KVHN) prior to his space flight. RIP
