NXI Phase 4 - DAN Owners Feature Request List
Now that DAI are well on their way to releasing Phase III NXI, I am creating a clean thread to allow the community provide feedback for our representatives (DAN 6 - correct name?) on what we, the Diamond owners would like to see included in the next software release - Phase 4.
We are the lucky owners of a amazing DA40/DA42/DA62 aircraft and DAI appear to have turned a page and become pro-avionics with the community. Let's share our wish list, otherwise we leave them guessing in the blind as to what we want - even if we don't get them all!
I'll start in order of preference...

Thanks Dave!
I'd like to encourage all NXi pilots to review this list, ask questions and comment. Not all features are applicable to all planes, as our humble singles have no YD or integrated O2.

Re: NXI Phase 4 - DAN Owners Feature Request List
I don't agree with these suggestions:
7. Oxygen level integrated into MFD: I prefer what we have now with separate analog gauges, since it permits the gauge at the fill port in the nose baggage compartment to match the in-cockpit gauge. I can also check the O2 level as part of my pre-flight checks without having to run down the battery and wait for the G1000 to boot up.
8. There's no room in the DA62 panel for a GFC mode controller for the autopilot, unless you want to raise the instrument panel height and block some forward visibility. You don't want the panel to look like that of a Piper M-class with very little forward view.

4) AoA & Low Speed Protection - Two different things. Definitely want the AOA. It would need a small hardware change. From a previous post on the subject; "... for DA42 & 62 planes with FIKI, Diamond uses a "lift detector," a simple on/off stall warning device. https://www.safeflight.com/products/aoa ... -detector/ . If, like Cirrus, they used a similar looking "Lift Transducer," with a bit of software it could supply information for an AOA indicator on the PFD. http://www.safeflight.com/products/aoa- ... ransducer/ ."
5) Auto YD Engage/Disengage at 200ft. - Auto engage in the climb? Absolutely not! I believe this auto-on "feature" is a Cirrus thing to try to reduce stall/spins in the pattern. A Diamond does not need it. Auto disconnect in descent at 200'? Yes, please. I know a guy who once landed with the YD on. Maybe twice.

Re: NXI Phase 4 - DAN Owners Feature Request List
It's a control panel for the autopilot that replaces the GFC700 control buttons on your MFD bezel. Most airliners have one located at the very top center of the instrument panel. It usually includes additional features like a scroll wheel for adjusting IAS or vertical speed UP or DOWN. Cirrus also has it.

Re: NXI Phase 4 - DAN Owners Feature Request List
*SMART MINIMUMS*
I think it would be nice to have a way to get minimums loaded from charts. This might be difficult to auto select the category, perhaps a way to quickly set destination field elevation. I remember landing into KAPA and turning the FMS knob over and over and over and over and over to set the minimums to 6080'
*ALTITUDE CALLOUTS*
Would be nice to get AGL altitude callouts without resorting to CFIDave's ForeFlight audio panel trick.
*CERTIFY 3D AUDIO*
It sure would be nice to be able to ask a Diamond center to turn this on. Or even better expose this in a non mx mode for users to change.

Re: NXI Phase 4 - DAN Owners Feature Request List
This is coming in NXi Phase III -- no need to request for Phase 4.
On a DA40NG, if this is turned on with NXi Phase II via Maintenance Mode today, additional menu options show up on Page 2 of the Aux Page Group, System Setup. These menu options permit the pilot and copilot to separately turn 3D audio ON/OFF, as well as swap pilot or copilot headset LEFT/RIGHT audio.

Re: NXI Phase 4 - DAN Owners Feature Request List
Some new VNAV CAS messages Cirrus have added in their latest release maybe helpful in Diamonds:
Added new VNAV CAS messages:
1 VNAV ALT SEL Advisory: Displayed within 60 seconds of top of descent when selected altitude is same as current altitude.
2 VNAV NOT ARMED Advisory: Displayed within 60 seconds of top of descent and VNAV mode is not yet armed
