Idea for you techies...

Post by curts63 »

Is there an app for interactive checklists? My thinking is, you connect with your headset via bluetooth. Then you preload all your checklists in the app. You call up the portion you need (ex: hey google, approach checklist) As the app tells you the step, you then respond with "check" after completion and it advances through to the end. "Checklist complete".

Any ideas? Suggestions?

Curt, it seems that the Checklist in ForeFlight does a good share of what you're looking for, shy of the voice commands you noted that would be issued by the pilot.

I had a tab for Miracheck opened in my browser forever. I loved the idea. I'd like to hear from another pilot who has tried it. It *seems* like it would duplicate what a two-person crew does, which is obviously incredibly effective for safety.

Miracheck, looks like the idea I was thinking about. It even has the microphone feature to allow you to go through the checklists without taking your eyes off the panel. Thank you Ememic99 for the information. I'm going to try it.

I've been using MiraCheck for over a year, but I don't use the voice features. I use it primarily because it allows me to easily customize and change checklists. It has "programming like" features to enable/disable/select sub-lists, branch on conditions, etc. which I use for IFR/VFR, towered/non-towered, etc. There are multiple ways to present branching options or choose from sub-sections which is useful to see the sub-sections. I have all my emergency checklists.

The editing UI and syntax is pretty quirky as it's apparently based on some tools the author uses for a more mainstream commercial application, but it does work if you invest some time to learn how to program it. The documentation is not great, but the support is pretty responsive.

I've been meaning to try the voice features wherein Miracheck acts as your co-pilot, reading an item, waiting for a response, then proceeding to the next item.
