Yes, Garmin dealer. But more importantly your panel has to support it. You'll have to check with your avionics shop, or maybe CFIDave will chime in. I'm not sure the older G1000's support the FS510. As far as I know it's only G1000 NXi Phase II equipped Diamonds that support the 510. I think earlier Diamonds have to go with the 210.

Unfortunately the FS510 only works with newer G1000 NXi aircraft, not Legacy G1000s (and except for NXi DA62s running version ".03" software, only with NXi Phase II hardware/software). But I believe someone here may have found a way to make the FS210 work with a Legacy G1000.

Thank you Dave for the insight info. I guess I’ll go with FS210 as long as it achieves the flight plan transfer from FF.

I called Garmin service yesterday and they said neither FS510 nor FS210 will work on Legacy G1000. Do you have the source for the info you mentioned to have the FS210 worked out for G1000?
Many thanks.

I may have misunderstood years ago discussions about Legacy G1000 owners installing FlightStream 210s; look here: viewtopic.php?f=8&t=6746&p=73042&hilit= ... 210#p73042
If GDU 11 is required then it might work with WAAS DA40 G1000s running version .23 software (which is GDU 12).

@CFIDave
Here's the equipment list I have according to the picture I obtained the other day:
System software version 0321.23
configuration ID 94FE5131

LRU info Version
GDC 1 7.00
GDL 90 x
GDL 69 x
GEA1 2.07
GIA 1 6.04
GIA2 x
GMA1 4.04
GMU1 2.05
GPS1 3.2
GS1 4.0
GSA PTCH CTL x
GSA PTCH TRM C x
GSA PTCH MON x
GSA PTCH TRM M x

Does the above info help with deciding whether it is going to be compatible or not?

If you're running 0321.23 in a DA40, that's the latest available version, which is GDU Version 12 (in PFD/MFD screens). But I have no info other than what I've read here in DAN about FS210 compatibility.
I would suggest you start a new thread asking if anyone with a Legacy G1000 has successfully installed a FS210 in their aircraft.

I think Rich has one installed. I responded to his post and waiting for his response :D

Rich does NOT have a G1000 system. His (and my) FS210 is connected to a GNS530W.
