Covid19 - Extending Subscriptions

Post by AaronF »

Hi all,

Hope everyone in the forums managing to stay healthy...

In the past weeks, I wanted to see how some of our service providers would respond to our requests during the crisis. I've therefore decided to contact Foreflight, Jeppesen and Rocketroute to ask for free extension for my subscriptions.

FOREFLIGHT replied saying they will discuss with team and come back to me.
Sent them a chaser last week, received reply confirming 30 days of free extension for my Pro Plus Europe subscription.
Thanked them and asked whether +30 days was possible.
Reply was nope.

JEPPESEN never replied to my first email.
Sent them a chaser last week, received reply same day confirming 2 months of free extension for my Pilot Pak subscription.
Two days later, received another message this time from a different customer rep. who confirmed 3 months of free extension.
Will update this post if I hear from another rep.

ROCKETROUTE replied confirming 1 months of free extension.
Asked for another month and got a confirmation almost instantly.

In general, I found all 3 providers quite responsive and helpful.

Summary:
Foreflight: +30 days
Jeppesen: +90 days
Rocketroute: +60 days.

Stay Safe!

I have garmin onepak, have not asked them about extending it for free, how did you phrase your emails to foreflight/jeppesen?

Nothing special.

Just stated that most GA pilots in Europe were still grounded due to Covid lockdown/restrictions and asked whether a request for free extension would be inline with their customer satisfaction policies.

Might be tougher in the States. In most cases we can still fly. Not much to do when we get to destinations, though.

Similar here in Croatia, we can fly and destinations are nice but without anything to do, even at the seaside because the beaches are kind of closed. I fly once a week a shoot some approaches, so I didn't find the grounds for the extension request.

We are unable to fly due to local restrictions and have just asked Jeppesen for a FoC Extension. Let's see their response. Best wishes to all members
