Until now, I didn't notice there is "Donations" button in the top blue bar.

I just want to publicly thank all of you who sent in a donation after Russ's post above. The actual costs of running the site are rather modest, certainly when compared with flying

, but it is nice to see that folks value it enough to pitch in to help defray the costs.

Back when Kai was transitioning the maintenance of DAN over to me, he said something that stuck with me. Hopefully he doesn't mind if I share it here.

I don't mind at all paying for the hosting until the end of my days. It is my donation to DAN if it wasn't covered by donations of other members anyway. ... My only interest is that the community stays alive as long as there are Diamond aircraft owners longing for support.

Luckily I haven't had to take him up on his generous offer, both because we've had a steady stream of donations and any remaining costs are low enough not to worry too much about.

I know we're both very happy with how this community has evolved over time and how our little corner of the internet remains civil and supportive of one another. Diamond pilots are truly a rare breed.

You and Kai should also be publically thanked for doing this for the benefit of the community. Your contribution in time and effort benefits us all. This forum has been an unexpected bonus to owning the aircraft itself.

Could you set up some sort of automatic payment system? I've donated in the past, but would feel better if I knew you were getting 25 bucks or so every year
