And if this situation isn't fixed then I will be moving away from Diamond on my next purchase in the next 6-12 months.....

Re: The G1000 project - "The next step"
Did you ask if it would ever support the KAP 140 Autopilot? I have my doubts there will be a path for our 2004 WAAS upgraded bird.
The KAP 140 A/P should interface with the NXi. However, this will require further engineering by Garmin.
The above was researched several months ago by Zach, Garmin’s OEM manager to Diamond (I’m paraphrasing here and the above is not a direct quote).

Re: The G1000 project - "The next step"
While at OSH I spent some time at the Diamond display. While there I spoke directly with DIA CEO Scott McFadzean, who, like many, many others in the relatively small aviation community is, and has been, a proud owner of (at least) one of my super multifunction pens. Mr. McFadzean mentioned that he is well aware of the problems experienced by those of us with non-WAAS GIA63’s, and he brought the DAN letter to my attention, remarking that it was his intent to respond to it. For my part, I mentioned to him that I had done all I could to prevent any picketing by DAN members in front of either the Diamond or Garmin OSH displays, although I did explain to both Scott and the Garmin representatives there that I did not know whether my efforts could continue through the next Sun N Fun in April 2020. I also mentioned to the Garmin reps that despite my contacts at both Dynon and Bendix-King (which has now acquired TruTrak) that I was hopeful that Diamond and Garmin could resolve the issues without the future involvement of either of those companies, although I believe that I am in a position to make appropriate introductions should the need arise.

I had an opportunity to spend some time discussing the letter with Scott McFadzean at EAA AirVenture Oshkosh.
The bottom line: In about 2 weeks he intends to provide a written response addressing all of the points raised in the letter. And he welcomes the opportunity to establish a meeting with owners.
So expect to hear something shortly...

This post is to further concur with CFIDave’s news from Oshkosh. As the signatories received a response today from CEO Scott McFadzean which said he would have something to post to DAN in the “coming weeks”.
Finally, it was great hearing first-hand accounts from those of you who attended OSH this year.

When Diamond wants to share with DAN, they will post something. They said nothing of substance in their reply beyond that they will have something for DAN in the “coming weeks”. I’m not DAI’s spokesperson or apologist and I have nothing to hide or disclose. DAI can speak for themselves and I, like everyone else at DAN, hope that will be sooner rather than later.

"Coming weeks" are slowly passing by but it's summer holiday season (I guess everywhere on the North hemisphere) so I don't expect much before late August.

Let's remind everybody that "about 2 weeks" have just been passed. Actually a bit more; more like 2.5 weeks.

Don’t worry. There will be a big announcement at Osh Kosh next year. Just wait it out.
