Hi Phil,
I am also not expecting a solution within the next months.. today our birds still fly ok.. But it is obvious that having no access to LNAV GPS approaches and newer G1000 software will dramatically limit the usage of our planes in the years to come. The life time of planes often ranges from 30-50 years.. or even beyond... The affected Diamond planes are today 10-14 years old.. some even younger. It is not acceptable that their use is strongly limited in a few years from now... not having access to newer software is like Diamond stopping to sell spartparts in a few years.
I am expecting Diamond and Garmin to work out a solution that keeps our planes flying. certainly something where owners will not get a free lunch.. but something that owners simply can not fix by themselves.
If this is not addressed... how could you trust Diamond to support a brand new 850K USD $ DA42 in 2029...
