Scott, if there’s any need/opportunity to have meeting in Wiener Neustadt, I live reasonably close - it’s 45 min flight from my base airport. Moreover, my base airport is operated by Diamond co-owned company and, as I previously wrote, I have certain contacts at some level. However, I believe our case requires meeting at highest possible level, coordinated for all users, since decision to support legacy G1000 is pretty tough and I understand it’s not an easy one to fit in Diamond’s current plans.

Maybe forum members have read this info in other thread but let me repeat it here: Diamond will release comprehensive info on upgrades for legacy avionics in early April during Aero 2019 in Friedrichshafen. I'll be there to get info first hand :)

Are you sure on the date? My read on the thread was April was the first announcement if everything aligns. Otherwise, it will be announced at a major event this year; it was just a matter when they get all the ducks in a row; although they have somewhat committed to an announcement this year.

That's info I got from DAI. We'll see if it's going to be precise info or just announcement of their plans/will to support legacy avionics upgrades.

From the thread David started recently "Meeting with Diamond": They do have plans for announcements both in April but probably bigger announcements in July at Oshkosh.
One thing is certain:
should DAI, in fact, make an announcement on April 10th, we can all count on field correspondent Emir to be the very first reporter to break the news. :)

I know I shall be monitoring both email and the forum with extra vigilance that day - as we eagerly anticipate a first hand account from our man on the scene.

I'm not certain if someone is tracking specific software improvements being requested, but something to add to the list is the following:

Non-WAAS, G1000 with a GDL-69A running software version .22.

Lightning is now included in the Sirius XM Aviator LT but it will not display on the DA40 G1000 because of a software issue in the GDL 69A. It is a limitation of the DA40 G1000 software that limits the software of the GDL69A.

Perhaps someone who has a WAAS G1000 can post if they have similar limitations.

I can tell you the lightning displays correctly with the .23 version of the G1000 software - but I think WAAS is required to go to the .23 version for DA40's.

Very interesting and informed discussion among G1000, non-waas Mooney owners. It seems we are not alone.
