We're now at 45 owners, thanks to these pilots signing up today using the google spreadsheet link:
Walter (N218DC), Wayne McClelland (N211WP) and Matthew Horan (N269RB).
For quick reference, here it is once again:

A big thank you to Eric Lynn and David Garrison of Galvin Flying for signing up their fleet of Diamonds - four DA40's and two DA42's!
As of today, the list surpassed the 50th mark.

61 this morning. I added our flight school's DA42, and fixed the subtotal counting cells to give the correct totals!

It's amazing to me that you have to go through this to get Diamond's attention. When Peter Maurer told me almost 10 years ago that it was unreasonable to expect Diamond to support my (then) 11 year old out-of-production DA20-A1, I saw the handwriting on the wall. I sold my ownership stake in a beautiful DA40-XLS and we are in the process of donating the Katana to a High School Foundation. I will miss both airplanes.
I can only assume the previous owner(s) could not understand that long term customer support leads to loyal customers which leads to future aircraft sales. Most of us can't afford to simply upgrade to the latest million dollar plus toy when our previous purchase gets orphaned or becomes obsolete.
Sorry to drift the thread...

Re: Outdated Garmin G1000 software - petition sign-up
Thanks to Mike (N197TS) and Rick (N718CA) for adding two more TwinStar's to the list this morning!
As of right now and by my count, we now have 53 total aircraft (36 DA40's, 16 DA42's & 1 Other). Yet, I could be wrong as I'm on the verge of becoming cross-eyed having tinkered around with this one spreadsheet for a couple of weeks now. . . .
Turning to Keith's (N853DF) post, no worries about drifting the thread (only slightly) as I appreciate you sharing your thoughts about Diamond aircraft ownership – especially the admirable donation of your DA20 to the local high school!
Keith's decision to take this action reminds me of a podcast I just listened to last night. One that is produced by Max Trescott. In this episode, Max tells the life changing story about the generosity of a pilot flying Young Eagles. It's an inspiring and touching story and one that I'm sure Keith will relate to especially well. And as a result of Keith's considerable generosity, my hunch is over the years he'll be able to share similar success stories (as the one Max so eloquently highlights) .
Also in this same podcast, Max talks about S-turns on final approach and why NOT to do them, even when instructed by the Tower.
From start to finish, it's another great episode, this one is number 82 (you'll have to scroll done a few episodes). So for those interested, you can listen to the entire series to date on your computer or smartphone. Here's the link to Max's website,

Now turning back to the task at hand: with another friendly reminder to ask anyone and everyone you might know that owns a Diamond, to check in with us here (if it's a flight school, with a fleet of Diamonds, all the better):

My apologies, Scott, for my inability to count this morning, and the corresponding incorrect changes to the spreadsheet. I should know better than to do anything technical before morning coffee.... I promise not to make any more changes!
