The DA20-C1 is alot of fun but it is not ifr capable and it doesn’t fly inverted.
I would love to own a Dart 450 but there is zero chance I will be able to afford one in my lifetime.
I am dreaming of a Diamond equivalent to the Blackshape prime that would be fully aerobatic and ifr certified for less than 300 000$.

Not certified, but an RV-7A has two seats, is aerobatic and can be IFR certified. You can get (or build your own) for less than $150K. Many have the bulletproof Lycoming IO-360-M1B (virtually identical to the DA40 M1A).

Re: Mini Dart
Try looking at a Berkut! It's experimental, but has some tandem military like love similar to the dart, but maybe a bit more futuristic looking.

I’m looking at Van’s airplanes. There is something about a constant chord short wing I dislike. Otherwise they are fine airplanes. The upcoming Cougar airplane kit looks promising too. If only it had a nicer tapered wing.krellis wrote:Not certified, but an RV-7A has two seats, is aerobatic and can be IFR certified. You can get (or build your own) for less than $150K. The Berkut looks great but is no longer available.

Actually, there's one listed on Barnstormers.com now. Ad states, "Plan for 200 knots, 8 gph, Quickly up to 17,500’, 1000nm range." It looks pretty cool, too, although it's a two-place tandem.Pascal wrote...

Re: Mini Dart
Berkut was next to where I learned to fly at SMO. A really nice guy that I talked to a few times. Man, those things are fast. I saw a guy parking (probably coming in for his annual now that I think about it) and he had come down from Idaho in three hours. Crazy fast. In fact, I think they held the record at the time for fastest piston single or something like that.
I asked what he did about bathroom breaks (since at the time three hours in a plane seemed long) and he held up a ziplock of kitty litter.
