The "Other" DAA
Has anyone else, who may or may not have dual "citizenship" in both DAA's ), noticed that the other site has been offline for the past couple of days?
Before running across this group, which IMHO, is much more relevant, current, and certainly more active, I found the other DAA on Wikipedia listed as "The DAA". I posed an issue there about a low fuel warning I was going to post here with the follow up response from a Diamond Service Center, however, I cannot lot into the other site to copy the post.
Just curious to see if anyone else has noticed this...

Re: The "Other" DAA
I told Phil about it last night. The server was apparently down. He was going to call the server host to get it back up. I just checked and it is still down
I sure wish we could all play well together and have just one bulletin board, but I guess that won't happen.

Re: The "Other" DAA
I have been trying to get a membership on the other site for a year with no response from them. I own a DA40 so not sure what's going on. In the interim I am happy with this site, but you can't have to much info.

Re: The "Other" DAA
I joined last week. Got an answer pretty quickly on that. Very little activity otherwise.

Re: The "Other" DAA
Just a little background. This site was created after some members became frustrated with their experience with the other site.
This site is free and relevant. The other site is not free, no longer as relevant and it also is heavily censored. The people have spoken.

It might happen if the server for the other board doesn't come back up.carym wrote:I sure wish we could all play well together and have just one bulletin board, but I guess that won't happen.

Re: The "Other" DAA
My guess is that you pissed him off some how. That is the best guess for me also. I didn't renew and then later tried to renew and was ignored. I suspect I am banned due to my support of this site's creator.Mhutton wrote:I have been trying to get a membership on the other site for a year with no response from them. Re: The "Other" DAA
We (means a few helpful friends and myself) founded this site because we were disappointed with the DAA. It is a long time ago now and there is no need anymore to warm up old issues. Lance has said it all.
I fully agree with Cary that we really don´t need two fora but there were two different ideas: DAA was private, DAN is public. Some DAA members did not want to go public and open up to search engines. So if someone wants to share the information with paying and registered users only, then the DAA was the place to go. There might even be good reasons to go this way. Just that the internet does not honor it.
Regarding the DAA hosting being down: the other sites hosted on the same server are working fine. So the issue won´t be resolved calling the hoster and asking for a server restart.
