That is what I would have expected, but let's see how many Cirrus owners swap to the DA50.

Why yes chute?
Ask your wife and your passengers. They aren't worried about spins or engine failures, they are worried about your health being the only thing between them and death.

Re: Finally the Launch??
A not scientific survey of three pilot spouses and two moms of pilots. Only one did not care about the chute (my wife) until I turn about 60; then a chute becomes a requirement. The other spouses and moms, all said chute is more important emotionally, stats are more important logically. Guess which one gives them more comfort?Davestation wrote: ↑Thu Jul 09, 2020 4:01 am And people are saying why no chute? Why yes chute? Diamond doesn’t have a chute because it doesn’t need one. And AutoLand may provide even more comfort than a parachute. Please Diamond, please.

I read on COPA today that apparently the cat is out of the bag and Cirrus are currently testing a SR22 with Autoland.

Yeah, it will be interesting to see how that works. Either it is slightly disabled or they have a FADEC engine or have some crazy method to mechanically control the mixture and throttle...

Re: Finally the Launch??
I forgot to mention that the DA-50 has a short thread on COPA. Title DA 50 RG….looks like they are finally releasing their SR22 competitor
So far, more questions than answers. Plus a lot of comments about wing size, and few other factors that do not make sense in the USA or in the market place. My take away is no one knows who is the target market.

Re: Finally the Launch??
Isn’t that the 3rd DA50 to be announced in the last 10-15 years? There was the DA50 Magnum, then the one with the Ukrainian turboprop, and now this one.
Yawn.
Yawn.
