Weight and balance
Can someone share the weight and momentum of a typically loaded DA62, with TKS, A/C, 3rd row, radar, etc?
I'm seriously considering an upgrade to the DA62 and I'd like to play with W&B to see if it satisfies my mission.
Thanks.

Welcome to the forum.
If you check your private messages, I can send you an Excel graphical spreadsheet that provides what you're looking for, based on my "loaded" DA62 with all the options you describe.

Re: Weight and balance
I'm confused about how much cargo weight you can put on the 3rd row, with the seats folded or not. The spreadsheet suggests 88 lbs only.

Re: Weight and balance
That's what it says in the AFM. I think the 88 lb weight limitation is caused by baggage being put on top of the folded 3rd row seats.
Since the 5-seater allows you to put up to 265 lbs in the rear baggage area, and the 7-seater lets you seat 2 (smaller) adults in the 3rd row, you can obviously put a lot more than 88 lbs back there if placed on the 3rd row seats (unfolded), or in the footwells of the 3rd row seats (we stick a pair of roll aboard bags vertically in the footwells).
The 3rd row seats themselves weigh 55 lbs, so you could probably carry 265-55=210 lbs back there (subject to overall aircraft weight and CG limits).

Re: Weight and balance
That's exactly what I inferred and the reason I got confused, because it doesn't make sense. If I can put people there, why not luggage that will most likely weigh less.
I'm afraid these technicalities may put us in illegal territory with the regs and insurance though.

Re: Weight and balance
Just don't fold the 3rd row seats down. You can put a lot more than 88 lbs of passengers into the 2 rear seats, so why would baggage resting on the seats be any different? (again, subject to the plane's overall weight and CG limits). Diamond doesn't publish individual seating weight limits for any of the rows.

Has anyone built a DA62 W&B profile in Foreflight?

Re: Weight and balance
I shamelessly added N62DV to my ForeFlight and adjusted the weight and momentum with what CFIDave shared with me. It looks correct. They have all the performance numbers as well.
