Factory warranty

Post by RMooney »

Hello forum - I've found this facility very helpful so thanks to all contributors.

How long is the warranty issued by Diamond for a new DA62?

You have separate 2-year warranties issued for the airframe (Diamond), engines (Austro), avionics (Garmin), and props (MT).

Thanks all. That's very helpful. If only DiamondShare would launch in the UK...

It's really a "dry lease" program. It's not uncommon for an owner to find one or more additional pilots to fly his/her plane (that doesn't get flown enough), and charge those pilots a fixed monthly fee for a block of hours -- where the only additional expense they pay for is fuel.

You could set up this arrangement with any make/model of aircraft.

When I purchased my plane, I learned the original owner was able to purchase an additional 5 year "tip-to-tail" / 2000 hour extended warranty. Here is the excerpt from the original purchase agreement.

I wonder what that additional warranty cost, and whether Diamond still offers it as an option?

I believe it was a 50k addition according to the man I purchased the aircraft from.

I asked my dealer as it showed as an option in the 2023 sales brochure but confirmed that it was not available.

When I bought my first DA40 it came with a crazy two year or 600 hour warranty that paid for all service. I had no idea how nice that was until years later. I got my oil changed right at 25 hours. I chased a problem with the fuel gauge even though it was costing a fortune (eventually they flew a guy out from the factory to replace it). My shop on the field loved me.
