Looking at this AvWeb video from 2013 of a pre-production DA62, I note the discussion of 210kts @ FL120.
https://youtu.be/hksiq2Hw4d0
They were operating at approx 1750kg and without FIKI. Do these factors alone account for the 18kts reduction to max POH speed of 192kts or was there a design change along the way? Any thoughts on getting more kts from the DA62?

Re: DA62 - 2013 discussion of 210kts
It's hard to believe they ever saw 210 knots from a DA52 (DA62 prototype). I could see reaching 200 knots due to the extremely low weight, and lack of TKS panels. I don't think there's much more that could be done to increase the DA62 cruise speed except to drastically increase horsepower. For example, put the DA50's 300 hp engines in it, and you'd probably get Beech Baron levels of performance (the Baron has 300 hp Continental avgas engines).

Re: DA62 - 2013 discussion of 210kts
I remember talking to DA52 pilot when they landed to my base airport (no TKS, totally simplistic cockpit and interior) - he said between 195 and 200 knots but hoped for some aerodynamic improvements and more than 200 knots for final product. However, it was when Mr. Dries ran the show and everything was overoptimistic and promises were rarely fulfilled.CFIDave wrote: ↑Thu Feb 25, 2021 2:22 am It's hard to believe they ever saw 210 knots from a DA52 (DA62 prototype). I guess adding more power would dramatically decrease range or it would require additional fuel capacity. When I had CD-135 engines on my DA42 my usual consumption was between 10.30 and 11.30 Gph (70 and 75 percent load respectively) for speed range (depending on altitude) between 150 and 155 knots. That used to give me realistic range of 900 NM. When I installed CD-155 engines my usual consumption increased to 13 Gph (it's humane nature - if I can fly faster why not ) for 175 knots (75% load). So my realistic range dropped to 800 NM (or so).

Re: DA62 - 2013 discussion of 210kts
Vortex generators on the outboard of the wings likely add considerable drag. dgger lost 3-5 kts when adding a full wing of them to a DA42NG. (see viewtopic.php?f=9&t=5165&hilit=vortex+g ... r&start=20)
The DA62 has fewer of them, but flies considerably faster, so I would think the airspeed loss due to the VGs would be in the same ballpark.
