Vegas, Baby, Vegas
Is no one going to mention getting the marketing material from Diamond?
And is anyone going to Las Vegas to look at the plane?

Re: Vegas, Baby, Vegas
Yes, I got the same letter.
If I understand what Diamond Canada is trying to do, they're going to sell direct from the Canadian factory competing against the existing US Diamond distributors (e.g., Premier, LifeStyle, Great Lakes, KCAC) who previously had exclusive sales territories. It even appears that Diamond Canada is going to empower owners as salespeople (possibly copying Tesla's referral program with automobiles?).
There are a lot of new initiatives promised in the letter, some of which appear questionable. Imagine how expensive it would be for the Canadian factory to come pick up your aircraft and take it to the factory for service and deliver it back? Maybe they think wealthy DA62 owners can afford this.
While I applaud some of these activities (marketing new models, fixing the badly outdated website, expanding the service and support network in North America), I sure hope the Canadian factory knows what it's doing.

Actions speak louder than words. We'll see how it plays out. Right now it's nothing but a lot of talk.
I would suspect existing Diamond owners view this letter with a lot of suspicion. I would and do.

Re: Vegas, Baby, Vegas
I am very much in favor of the factory-refurbished program. They have a LOT of information about the fleet and I would feel really good about buying a plane from them that they had replaced the engines on and offered a warranty on.
I loved the work they did this summer and liked what I saw at the factory.

Here's the info from the Diamond Austria website (there are 2 PDF brochure and factsheet files you can download): http://www.diamond-air.at/twin-engine-a ... /da62.htmlTommy wrote:Anybody have the specs., useful load etc.? It's not contained in anything I have received from Diamond.
Also, as reported earlier the DA62 has been certified by EASA using the DA42 Type Certificate Data Sheet (TCDS):
https://easa.europa.eu/system/files/dfu ... d1_MM1.pdf
Scroll down to Section E for DA62 specifications.
Just a few days ago Diamond added the 7-seater version with higher gross weight to the TCDS. But they haven't yet certified FIKI since "Flight into expected or actual icing conditions is prohibited."
And the DA62 is not yet FAA certified.

Re: Vegas, Baby, Vegas
Does anybody from DAN plan to attend the NBAA? It would be nice to get a first hand trip report and review of the DA62.
