I’m aware of this and I always point out to this fact as a basis for easier obtaining STC. If NXi phase 2 upgrades w would ensure steady stream of GIA63W then DAI could offer NXi phase 1 upgrade to legacy G1000 owners. But for some reason it isn’t happening and DAI offers nothing to legacy G1000 owners.

In this case I doubt that many non-WAAS owners will step up at these prices. Maybe the strategy is to try to move as many NXi P1 units as they can before offering an STC for P2, that is compatible with 64w, i.e., WAAS capable.
I believe that all NXi boxes are compatible with both GIA63W and GIA64W. And WAAS capability is there with either while I guess that the difference will be revealed in the future when some software related features will be released only for newer boxes.

Regarding the pricing, it’s not easy to say what’s acceptable but I guess some $60k would be ok for legacy G1000 to NXi phase 1 upgrade (GIA63W boxes), including replacing KAP140 with GFC700.

I can’t see a scenario where used GIA 63W boxes will be plentiful. Will happy people like Colin with WAAS be inclined to upgrade again to NXi/GIA64W? For $28K I doubt that I would do it if I already had WAAS.

That's why I wrote in previous post that it wasn't happening.

Shiny new screens with great resolution? :D New software features? It might be good investment in terms of improving resale value of the aircraft "latest G1000 NXi avionics".
