Re: New DA40 XLT unavailable
No news out of Diamond on this issue: Orders for the Lycoming XLT model cannot be placed while awaiting G1000 NXi certification for that version of the DA40. Austro DA40 NGs have been certified with NXi and thus are currently being produced by Diamond Canada.

Re: New DA40 XLT unavailable
What do you think the DA50 V will MSRP for?
Should it be reasonable to think it will be priced between the DA40 NG and DA42 VI ?

Re: New DA40 XLT unavailable
You may be right about the "V" 5-seater with diesel engine. But a 7-seater DA50 with 380hp Lycoming IE2 avgas engine and retractable gear might cost as much as a new DA62.gordsh wrote:What do you think the DA50 V will MSRP for?

Re: New DA40 XLT unavailable
Does the commitment for the Republic training order for DA40NG effectively mean that the factory will continue to be at max production capability with the NG over the next 2 years this continuing to ignore the XLT?

Re: New DA40 XLT unavailable
To my knowledge the factory still plans to bring back the Lycoming DA40 since there's still a market for it (e.g., I was just talking to a flight school that wants to buy multiple new Lycoming DA40s.) But as you suggest, the recent Republic training order will put pressure on Diamond Canada (for more DA40 NGs) and Austria (for more DA42-VIs) to further ramp up production rates for those models. In addition, we're continuing to see a healthy demand for new DA62s.

Re: New DA40 XLT unavailable
I saw the press release. Just wondered if anyone got more information at the Diamond booth or if they had one on display with price information?

Re: New DA40 XLT unavailable
As a Diamond distributor, I was there working the Oshkosh Diamond exhibit showing both DA40 models. As typically equipped, the Lycoming DA40 XLT and Austro DA40 NG are both around $500K, with the XLT about $20K less. More with air conditioning.
The big sale of 50 aircraft to Republic Air's LIFT flight school (42 DA40 NGs, 8 DA42-VI) will result in delivery of these new aircraft being spread out over the next 1.5 years, which should leave enough factory production capacity available for other customer deliveries.
