I have often used the Diamond Illustrated Parts Catalogue http://ipc.diamond-air.at/ipp/ It's a great tool, but I have one complaint / question. Where is the stuff for the G1000? Even when I use my serial number, I never get anything about the G1000. The panel, instruments, and electronics shown are nothing like my aircraft. Am I doing something wrong?
thanks

Re: Diamond parts catalogue
The DA40 was originally certified as a steam gauge aircraft, and the G1000 was added via a Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) in 2004. That's why the G1000 is not in the Diamond IPC, and why there's a separate addendum to the DA40 POH/AFM that describes how to operate the DA40's G1000.
In contrast, the DA42 twin was originally certified with the G1000, and thus the G1000 is included in many Diamond documents for the DA42. You might try looking through the DA42 technical documents and POH/AFM for G1000 info -- the G1000 for the DA40 and DA42 are almost (but not quite) identical.
For either plane you'll still need to reference Garmin documents if you really want details on the G1000.
