Krea,
Thanks for the timely info - turns out I have just started working on my instrument rating and it would be very helpful to file IFR as I work through my syllabus. My CFII just converted his military time into the civilian side so he may not have been aware of this FAA order. So far, I have found the DA-20 to be an excellent IFR training platform - with a STEC-30 autopilot, Sandel 3308 eHSI, and dual GNS-430s. Throw in my iPad mini with ForeFlight pro and a Stratus2 - and it seems that I have more than enough Situational Awareness to fly IFR (while maintaining VMC).
To make this happen, I would think that I would need to have my altimeter recertified as it is more than 2 years old since it was tested. My transponder was just done. It has been a few months since I've updated the GPS databases but that would be a quick/simple issue to rectify. Throw in a quick VOR check and it seems like I would have all the equipment in my DA-20 IFR-current in order to be in compliance with this FAA order.
Thanks for the insight.
