I am selling my dear ferry-tanks which will fit into a DA40 or DA42. They add another 240l or 63 gallons increasing the range by 8 hours or 960nms. The longest leg I have flown with them was 14 hours.
They fit perfectly into the back when the back seats are taken out and form a flush surface on top to stow more baggage or put jerry cans on top. The baggage rails serve to tie down further baggage. I designed them and they were built and welded in Germany.
The tanks are currently here in Thailand, so shipping might not be cheap, so will adjust the price to a whooping $400 just to get them out of here.

That is a really good price for anyone who can use them Kai. They must have cost a lot to have made.

14 hours! You need to include an additional tank for emptying my bladder. We would fly 13 hour missions in the P3C, but we had a lavatory...

Yes, Robert. They did cost a lot more to make. Not included my time to make a model first in plywood, then in foam. Given the fact that the tanks are here in Thailand and shipping will cost a bit, I tried to make an attractive price.rwtucker wrote:That is a really good price for anyone who can use them Kai. Yep, it takes some time to get used to peeing into a Gatorade bottle having another guy sitting next to you. At one time, I just did not drink in order not to pee and ended up with a full grown kidney stone during flight. Not very recommendable either.Steve wrote:14 hours! SOLD
Hi Chris,
I did not spend time thinking of thrombosis. I associated this with an illness which is more prone to older people. Probably I thought the same of kidney stones
The tanks are sold. Thanks for all the interest received.
