My plane is hangered in Farmington NM but the hanger is not heated
My GF hates climbing into a cold cabin so I'm considering leaving a heater in the cabin between trips... something like this
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07W4 ... FTIO&psc=1
Although it has a thermostat I worry it might overheat the cabin
anyone got a model they comfortable with
and where in the plane do you place it
The Tanis heater for the engine block seems to be working fine.
I do leave it plugged in during winter months without any problems.

You might consider making a flex duct and leaving the heater out of the airplane.

I agree. I think the worry is that the heater might overheat, start a fire, etc.
Also pretty crazy to leave a heater running for a week or so when you really only need it on for an hour before departure.
Have you tried sheepskin seat covers? My wife loves them. An electric heating pad on the sheepskin 30min before departure might do the trick.
Good luck!

Somebody has to say it...maybe get a different girlfriend?
I use a twin hornet for the engine warmup but it could easily be used as a cabin warmer too. I have it plugged in to an smart plug in the hangar and can control the plug’s on/off via a phone app.

I assume he is using a smart switch to turn the stuff on an hour before getting there.

Re: Cabin Heat when in hanger
I did this in my old plane. I put it in the luggage area behind the backseats. I had it on a timer Which I set the day before when I knew when I would be leaving the next day. I Found that I only needed to run it for 15 minutes and it warmed up the plane nicely.
