Re: B-Kool Portable A/C
Ive been thinking about using one of these too. There are plenty of 400-500 watt battery packs that are 12lbs (approx). I was looking at the Arctic Air cooler 38quart 12v single fan, only to put in when on ground to keep my wife happy, but wasn't sure the power draw of the fan/pump on something like this?Colin wrote: ↑Fri Aug 05, 2016 6:03 pm http://www.bixnet.com/unpowbat.html
I would be curious what the B-Kool actually draws. This unit on Amazon is a little rechargeable battery and it would probably power the fan easily for the few hours you fly.
(It's nice to see N971RD in it's new home.)

It would be a good way to charge my other toys without plugging into the plane as well if large enough....Thoughts?

I am using the B-Kool and powering from the CLA. No radio interference at all. Located in baggage behind seats.

Re: B-Kool Portable A/C
I have a 24 volt b kool. I tried powering from cigarette adapter. Bad noise on certain radio frequencies such as ground at KVNY. 121.7
Tried ferrite filters. No soap.
I now use a lithium battery pack consisting of two 12v motorcycle batteries in series. These are lithium iron phosphate which is supposed to be much more stable. This reduces but does not eliminate the noise.
The b kool owner claims that you can blow out the remote control if you run at 28v and so recommends a 24v power source. This happened to me. I also blew the inline fuse behind the cigarette adapter.
This is apparently a known problem with b kool in diamonds. The owner was able to reproduce this himself.
I love the unit as it keeps me cool for about an hour even in 110 degree heat.

Re: B-Kool Portable A/C
Is there any issues that anyone sees with the Goal Zero or Jackery products of batteries (I have a 12 volt arctic air).?
