Happy to report that we completed the RTW yesterday. First DA42 solo pilot RTW. Great experience, want to start it all over again! Thanks to my wife and the many who helped, assisted, supported along the 25,000 nm route (Bahamas-Newfoundland-Azores-Switzerland-Austria-Russia-Japan-Philippines-Indonesia-East Timor-Australia-New Zealand-Nouvelle Caledonie-Vanuatu-Fiji-Tonga-Niue-Samoa-Kiribati-Hilo HI-Monterey-Atlanta and back). I have my videos on https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC9qzBT ... subscriber

Wolfgang that's terrific! You deserve a lot of credit for overcoming adversity and achieving your goal.
(It's also nice to know that the same aircraft N430PS that I flew to train for my multi-engine rating at KJYO years ago has now made it all the way around the world.)

Wolfgang:
That is an incredible achievement! I used to marvel at just how BIG the Pacific ocean is, when I used to cross it in a P3C (4 engine turboprop) during my time in the US Navy. I can't imagine doing it in a light twin aircraft. Parenthetically, a friend who lives at the airpark where I hangar my airplane recently completed a solo, round the world flight, following Amelia Earhart's route - in a Mooney!

And I sweat flying from TX to FL...

Congratulations!
What a trip, Wolfgang!
When watching your videos, I recognized that you don't have anti icing panels installed.
Did you have any trouble with icing, or was that no factor?

Re: N430PS completed around-the-world
Right, Wilfried, no TKS. I had to ask lower FL three times on the whole trip: approaching Novosibirsk, then near Melbourne, and again when crossing the Pacific last week. Since most of the time I fly around Caribbean, where icing normally occurs only over 16-20k ft, I decided not to carry that extra weight....
