Aart, Antoine, Jean

I will not be able to bring a plane over - I could but I am not Kai, but give me plenty of notice I would love to visit as well from Australia.

I can bring some fine Australian wines!

Was lined up to demo fly the DA 42 NG today, but coming down with the flu. :(

Cheers

Robin

Robin,
I am afraid that soon you will not be able to afford any fine Australian wines.. After your flight in the NG you will be hooked and will want to buy one.

Kai, are you back here in spring? What if I organize a little fly-in here in Son Bonet? Antoine and Jean seem to be in. Anyone else??

Robin, fly to Europe and maybe join someone who would fly here? Jean, he could help you load the crates of Duvel..

Aart, I have no idea where I will be. I would be amazed though if I had N405FP in Europe. I will have to find new buddies in Asia, I hope

Maybe I can get Robin to fly his DA40 at least to Malaysia, then we could meet with Henrik.

Aart

Flying in sounds great...

Will have to make the DA 42 NG go out to work, because I still have to enjoy some fine wine from time to time.

Kai - I have looked into flying to Singapore, where I do a clinic every 2 months, apparently the problem is getting good quality AVGAS in Indonesia. According to my Airline mate who flies into Bali and Singapore, there are regularly issued NOTAMs re bogus fuels.

We should catch up with Henrik in Singapore.

Cheers :D

You guys are welcome anytime. Would be great to meet up, either here or Malaysia! Btw, I'm actually in the US for the next, oh, 2-3-4 weeks, hopefully completing the CPL & ME+SE...(and 'LEMAC' denotes the "Leading Edge Mean ..." anyone? anyone? Bueller?)

GA in Singapore & Malaysia is easy and friendly (including VH & N-reg) - there's avgas-on-tap at Seletar in Singapore and Johor Bahru, Subang & Penang in Malaysia. Overflight/landing permits not required for Singapore; Malaysia overflights are free, flexible and straight forward. There's nav fees in Malaysia, but they're peanuts for a DA40 size aircraft.

I grew up in Singapore, and will be paying a visit in December, maybe we can meet up. I heard that Singapore rules are much less restrictive now.

For a short while, I was involved with the Youth Flying Club of Singapore (DA40 operator), and only a little piece of airpace to circle around.

Neongoby, PM me when you get into town...

I'm afraid the local training airspace is still absolutely tiny. It's basically a box pattern of about 5 mins of straight & level. So by definition every single trip we make is an international one! (looks good on the resume too)

You are right, Aart: the Asian Diamond gang has hi-jacked Antoine's thread and I will have to clean it up. Maybe one of those Asian guys wants to open a new thread for an Asian fly-in and I can move the Singapore-related posts over?
