To File or Not to File (IFR, that is) - Lancaster CA (Full ATC)
We’re finally back in the Diamond Star today (smooth new prop and all), giving Levi and his dad Bill a lift to Lancaster. A bit of a nervous flyer, Bill is hoping that the crew upfront can make this an enjoyable flight. Looks like VFR would probably work, but there’s an AIRMET for IFR and spotty cloud cover in the region, so we revert to my default SOP which is to Prep, File and Fly IFR. Thanks for flying with us. 4K! Did you shoot that with the iPhone or GoPro?

Russ, yes, both... the view toward the panel is the GoPro (4K), and the iPhone (4K) is used for (a) view of occupants and (b) view out the right wing side. I agree with your observation... the iPhone 12 Pro has more vivid image quality than the GoPro Hero 8 (although the GoPro has the darkening prop filter) and the GoPro has better stabilization.

Bernie, a 1 to 1 replacement of what I had... an MT 3-bladed composite. During annual I had the original 1800 hour prop sent out for overhaul... they found corrosion in the hub... there was a 22 week backlog for a new hub, and "only" 12 week wait for a fully new prop.
