Re: How to value a DA20

Thanks! I had a business dinner 150 miles south of me this afternoon. A friend of mine has multiple planes and had his pilot fly me down instead of driving. Saved me 2+ hours compared to driving time so I'm in bed at a descent hour. Really looking forward to the DA20.

Re: How to value a DA20

I researched the problem I encountered and ran across the same possible fix as well. Maybe it is that but I wasn't there for any of the conversations with the mechanics, all second hand info from the owners. I guess it's possible both mechanics saw an opportunity to stick it to the owners. If I can ...

Re: How to value a DA20

Keith, I had brought that up to them last year and it went nowhere. In the conversation this week the current owners relayed that they are just ready to get it off their plate. They've let it sit for 5 years and have no desire to spend another dime on it, they are ready for it to be someone else's p...

Re: How to value a DA20

40k it is. That should leave enough of a cushion to fix any avionics issues.
I'll plan to add the MT prop and JPI EDM-900. From what I've read that prop change has been universally positive and I would like a more modern engine monitoring system with accurate fuel totalizer.

Re: How to value a DA20

Thank you all very much for the input. There's a little more detail that has fueled my concern for the engine. I was the last guy to fly it and immediately after takeoff had a drop in oil pressure and increase in temp and called an emergency(was with my CFI). Two different mechanics said it needed a...

Re: How to value a DA20

Finally talked to everyone today and they are ready to sell the plane. It's a 2000 model and from memory has about 1100 hours on the engine, though it's been sitting for 5 years. I can't remember what the total time was on the airplane but it was a relatively low from what I remember. I will look at...

Re: Difference in DA20 C1 Katana vs Eclipse vs Evolution?

Thanks Pascal. I was flying a 2000 Eclipse which was essentially your aircraft. I'm looking at another 2000 Eclipse but it has the Katana DA20 C1 graphic on the outside(have not seen in person yet). From what I've read on wiki some planes came from the factory with this badging but are the same as a...

Difference in DA20 C1 Katana vs Eclipse vs Evolution?

I understand that all 3 have the Continental IO-240B motor but is there any other major difference except for the rear windows?
I've read the differences listed on the wiki page but if anyone has any other info I'd appreciate it.

Thanks

Spotted DA40 st KRVS yesterday.

Was walking through the hangar at Christiansen Jet Center and noticed N216GT just sitting there.
Anyone on this board?
Not many in the Tulsa area.
