Re: LED Landing / Taxi lights for the DA40
I posted on this before. I installed Aeroleds sunbeams. This is not a major alteration as defined by the FAA so no form 337 is required. Technically you need at A&P to sign logbook entry for install but I did it myself. They use molex electric connectors so you would be wise to buy a crimp tool...

Re: New Nose Wheel Fin
Bret, can you post pics and info on your nose wheel protectors, or is there another thread addressing this?

Re: LED Landing / Taxi lights for the DA40
Wondering if anything new in Taxi/Landing lights has come out in the last couple years, and if anyone has used the Aeroled lights with success and if anyone has done the work for a 337 with success on them. Would like to get these as they are plug and play in the factory Diamond light assembly hardw...

Re: New Nose Wheel Fin
One thing to note that no one has mentioned is that if you're rudder pedals were even in straight and coordinated flight before changing anything, with the fin on, readjustment of the trim tab, and new "neutral'' position of the rudder, the pedals will no longer be even in straight coordinated...

Re: New Nose Wheel Fin
I interpreted Bret’s instructions to indicate that the rudder trip tab was to be reinstalled regardless, but lets not fool ourselves here....anyone who ops to use this is, by the letter of the overly oppressive aviation federal laws, flying a plane that is being operated outside of its airworthiness...

Re: New Nose Wheel Fin
I’m very interested in this as I tried the original Bretfin last year but it didn’t fit my 2004 fairing. Bret, please post some pics (or anyone who gets one with a 2004 version nosewheel fairing). It would be great to see how it looks sand how well it sits on the fairing.

Re: G1000 range knob
I have this same MFD range knob issue. Where are folks finding these knobs “relatively cheap”? I checked with my Garmin service center and they told me my only option was to order a complete knob kit that contained knobs for every knob on both screens (of course it did, its Garmin) and it would cost...

Re: RPM fluctuation on idle and engine choking
The video won't play for me. But an EGT rise on a cylinder accompanying the RPM drop would indicate a plug misfiring. An EGT rise on all cylinders suggests a mag problem or p-lead intermittent short. That’s not necessarily true from my experience, Rich. This last spring we noticed some intermittent...

Re: Help problems with KAP 140 AP
Hello Rich, thank you for getting back to me. I have never engage the ROL mode. When I engage the AP, I set the heading bug and engage the HDG, NAV and ALT buttons. Sometimes the AP works the first time, other times is takes a few attempts to work. I reset the CB All three message HDG, ALT & NA...

Re: Service & MX
I’m going to go out on a limb here and say you are being ripped off. We have a 2004, we fly it 200 hours a year, and it is serviced by a Diamond Service Center. We always have them fix everything that comes up (not just airworthy, but recommended) and our annual is consistently around 2.5k-ish. Just...
