Do you "generally" recommend landing flaps on base or short final?
In a DA40 or DA20, the only two aircraft I have a lot of time in, landing flaps on final. Or not at all if it's a long runway.

Flyout to the Bahamas?

This may be impossible to coordinate, but I thought I might as well throw in out there in case any other folks had similar thoughts. One of my to-do list flights is to the Bahamas. Is anyone else potentially interested in arranging some kind of Diamond fly-out?

Airport of Entry in Canada

I'm planning a day trip from the US (Boston area) to Canada, basically just to add a new experience to my logbook. Can anyone suggest a convenient/fun airport of entry in Canada in the Northeast region? I guess from the Canadian perspective that would be the Southeast region. Montreal sounds fun but...

Re: In desperate need of a DA40 CFI

I think you'll have more luck decoupling these activities. Get the plane to Florida, and then find a good instructor once you are there. There are dozens, if not hundreds, of flight schools in Florida.

Re: DA40 to rent around Boston/Providence

Wolfgang,

Though at this time I’m not interested in renting my DA40 to someone I don’t know (no offense intended, I’m sure you understand), if you would like to go flying together at some point during your stay let me know.

2007 DA40XL 1/3 share, Massachusetts

Third partner wanted for our DA40 at KLWM (Lawrence, MA). In private, heated T-hangar. Current owners combined fly about 100 hours per year so there is plenty of availability for a 3rd partner. 1/3 share = $64,166. We bought the plane at a good time, this is a bargain price if you look at what is on...

Re: winch or powered tow bar?

I use a winch on the DA40 as many others do. “Recommended” by Diamond or not, you gotta get the plane in the hangar somehow.

I’m also interested if this works to charge a dead battery.

Re: Silly moment in DA40

Did this during my instrument check ride. I could transmit and receive, but the DE could not talk to ATC. Later I figured out he must have plugged his mike into one if the passenger ports. To this day I wonder if that helped me pass my checkride. :D
