Oil filter availability

Well it seems oil filters are becoming a statistic of covid and supply chain issues. I have had oil filters on order since July with nothing to show for. I suppose this has to be hitting flight schools pretty hard. What are people doing to get these filters?

In the past with a rental I had the massive plugs foul on two separate occasions. I was aggressively leaning on the ground but who knows what all the other renters were doing. As a result I went with fine wires and always aggressively lean to the point where the engine will not operate past taxi RPM...

I forgot about this. This was a common issue for a time a while back.

I don't have any specific recommendation but really this isn't rocket surgery. Any professional detailer should be able to do this. You just need to make sure he doesn't use anything with silicone. The silicone can interfere with future composite repair. Not a big deal but a good rule to follow. Als...

I just pulled my carpets out and had the pattern copied on a carpet with the appropriate burn certificate.

I completely agree and when it is time my son will learn gliders first. Then perhaps he will get his license in a tailwheel cub type airplane. He can learn the Land-O-Matic last.

Before and after the issue the navigators seem to work well. We were in freezing temps so that is the only thing I can think of that is different. The GTX345 is the only recent change but there have been plenty of flights that showed only normal ops. I am stumped on this one. I didn't pull the break...
