Steve - No, I have the round style from the newer panel (2004 G1000). I can hear it clearly even with a noise reduction headset. I really don't want to break into it without advice from somebody who has gone there before.

Re: Panel vibration / rattle
I have a related one that I was hoping somebody could comment on. My air vents rattle. It will stop briefly if I fiddle with them but I can't make it stop. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Re: Performance landing gear kit
I am focused on finding a good 05/06 da40 and I have not been able to determine if the performance landing gear kit is an option on those model years, or if it came standard. As Lance's post details, if you are considering an 05 or an 06 you should add the 04 which has a similar configuration (I ha...

Re: G1000 WAAS Question
And it will not fly holds. Period. With the spoofing technique (such as implemented in the Aspen) it will fly published DME arcs and holds (such as MAP holds) if they are in the navigator's current flight plan. Sorry - I was referring to the DA40 G1000 configuration with KAP which will not fly hold...

Re: G1000 WAAS Question
To clarify, the troubleshooting was for the S/W installation, not the WAAS. The plane already had the GIA63W when I bought it.Diamond_Dan wrote: ↑Fri Dec 16, 2022 8:06 pm My shop spent many hours troubleshooting with Garmin (which thankfully they did not charge me for).

Re: G1000 WAAS Question
I have this configuration, updated to 321.23 if you have any questions. I recommend upgrading S/W when you do the GIA63W but find a shop that has done it before. My shop spent many hours troubleshooting with Garmin (which thankfully they did not charge me for). My understanding is like Rich says - t...

Re: Alternator slow to wake up
What is your idle RPM? I wonder if the 2 minute "warm-up" is less about actually warming up and more about the idle increasing in conjunction. Have you bumped the RPM to 1000 right at engine start with no change? A brand new alternator will charge well below 1000 but depending on the batt...

Great excuse to change your alternator belt if needed.

There are a few others on the field but we are all private owners. (I would refuse if somebody asked me)

Re: Alternator slow to wake up
Had my annual done at a different shop this year to take care of the wing spar A/D, GWI, and some squawks. Mechanic there didn't think anything of it so I'm not going to worry about it. Makes sense to me that the regulator would require a minimum voltage from the alternator to prevent an over-curren...
