Re: Diamond DA4X, 50, 6X stabilized approach criteria
I'm also a huge fan of FlySto and upload my flights every 28 days. AGL approach altitudes are pretty much the same for all piston aircraft, but do vary based on pattern altitude and tower instructions. Sometimes we're instructed to make a "short approach" and sometimes we're instructed to ...

Lighten Up
I was going through my just six month old DA62 today because the installation of radar required adjusting the W&B. I found myself removing some items to tweak the forward shift in the CG. It brought to mind a legendary late 70's racing yacht named Imp. She was a revolutionary design at the time ...

Re: Economics of keeping plane in a hangar
Hangers fees. I am down in LA basin. I wanted to be at either KSNA or KLGB. At KSNA, I got a quote for about $1600/mo parked at the south ramp (outdoors). For about $500 more, I was able to secured a hanger space at OCR Aviation at KLGB. I opted to keep it in the hanger. It’s expensive to hanger a ...

Re: DA62 on order or recently delivered?
Process / quality control at London is very poor. I am wondering if the planes that were built in Austria typically have less of these types of issues? My plane was built over in Austria and flown over to London, this past week. I understand they do some additional things (not sure what) there befo...

Re: Tint your Diamond - Affordable Solution
I used 3M Prestige 70 window film in the hard dodger of my last boat. Sitting behind the glass in the tropics it was fantastic at cutting the heat and it was optically clear.

Re: DA62 on order or recently delivered?
I didn't do the GWX 8000 yet. This is my first plane with onboard RADAR at all. So I figured I would see how I use the RADAR in general and what its capabilities are before paying for the upgrade. It seems like it is a pretty nice enhancement, but what to see what I have first. No word on Phase III...

Congra tulations. Did you purchase the GWX 8000 upgrade? Did you get any information about Phase 3?

Re: Another Newbie - Part III
I looked at my tires/wheels today. The Beringer wheels have no mark as far as I could see. The Goodyear Flight Custom III tires have a red dot on the sidewall. One wheel appeared to have a mark on the inside of the rim that was barely visible on the edge, but not on the face. I suspect the inside of...

Re: Changing Flight Id / call sign
I did. The sequence is a little different in the DA62 due to the way the GPU is connected to the electrical system, but it did work. I don't need it so I returned it to the "tail number" default.
