I went back to my 2019 DA40NG which had the same Phase II hardware five years ago. It also had 5.15D. Nothing has changed from my DA40NG in 2019 to my DA62 in 2024.

Re: DA-40NG Purchase Advice

My memory is that the pedals needed to be moved aft for the gust lock.

Re: Tug for DA40 NG

I had an A2 and also had some hangar door "tracks" to cross. The plane could get stuck between the tracks unless I carried a lot of speed which I didn't want to do since I had about 8" clearance on each wingtip. I cut a couple of pieces of plywood to fit in between the tracks and smoo...

Re: GMA 1360/G1000 NXi: Passengers can't hear com radio

We have NXi phase II. I have a different GMA software load than Marlon. I'm on 5.15e vs Marlon's 5.15De I'm told 5.15De is a non-authorized config now. Very odd because I'm one Canada s/n after Marlon and I'm on 5.15D. I'm currently AOG at KVIS and I'm pretty sure I have those options. I can verify...

Re: GMA 1360/G1000 NXi: Passengers can't hear com radio

I asked my shop if they could load the same GMA config that Marlon has but they said it's no longer permitted and it'll throw a config error code. If it's NXi Phase II and a GMA 1360 in your 62, then it should be the same as Marlon's plane. They haven't changed anything since Phase II was delivered...

Re: Starting to see DA40 parts from China...

I've been to the Diamond China factory in 2019, all 3 factories (Austria, Canada and China ) are my customers. The China factory is located in WuHu (ANHUI Province) not too far south from NanJing (more well known). WuHu is on the Yangtze River between WuHan and Shanghai, all 3 are on the river in f...

Re: Starting to see DA40 parts from China...

I checked the pedal set in your link and there is some ambiguity. It says country of manufacture is Austria, but shipping from China.

The same seller also sells Airbus parts. Hard to understand how commercial aviation parts can be sourced from eBay.

Re: DA-40 technical questions

MT Propeller releases fairly extensive information, but you'll need to know the model number for which you are seeking the information.

Re: Honest Opinion Request

I have never seen any data that suggests that "old" Austro engines are better than "new" Austro engines. We would all like to see more transparency from Diamond/Austro, but to my knowledge, other than the sales numbers reported by GAMA, they have never released data of any kind....

Re: Honest Opinion Request

Multifaceted question. First, irrespective of TDI or Austro, there are too few Diamond Service Centers (DSC). Unless you are an A&P/IA, or willing to become one (I know some owners who have), your happiness with a diesel engined Diamond will be inversely proportional to your proximity to a DSC (...
