Re: AmSafe airbag woes

In my case, we kept the nice padded belts but pulled out the inflators and all of the electronics under the seats and now we just have ... padded seatbelts with no more maintenance required. I'm perfectly happy with this outcome and was also tired of waiting for parts - not to mention the annoying b...

Re: Spare G1000 Range Knob?

The original knob also had a metal ring inside. Chances are it is still on the shaft and you just didn't notice it. You will need to remove it from the shaft before you can install the new knob!

I completely missed that you have a DA62, not a DA40, so you may not find it as informative as I originally thought...

Re: Fuel Gauge / Totalizer Miscompare?

Jonathan, You might want to read this post for additional information. It sounds like you have the 50-gallon 'extended range' tanks, so you actually have 3 interconnected tanks in each wing. The middle tank doesn't have a fuel sensor in it, so the fuel gauge for each side has an area in the middle w...

Re: Anyone have a maneuver cheat sheet for a DA42NG?

I have tried to send a private message to you but they say they are sitting in my outbox... I'm not sure how that works on this message board but I don't see any way to get them out. Maybe they sit there until you see them? Yes, that is exactly what happens - they show in your Outbox until the reci...

Re: Standby Attitude Indicator Replacement

Is your DA40 a G1000? And that's allowed? (When the little round gauge replacements first showed up I think I recall a prohibition on using them with the G1000 since they shared some code, or something like that.) Yes, I'm G1000. I think the G5 might have been originally prohibited with the G1000, ...

I replaced mine with a GI-275 a few years ago, and I love it.

Re: Flaps Indicator Bulb Removal

I found that stripping a couple of inches of insulation from a piece of 12g electrical wire gives you a good tool - you gently push the insulation over the bulb head and then pull, and it pops right out! If you search for "flap bulb" in the forum you will find several older threads on this...

Re: DA40 Pre-buy Recommendations near Wilmington, NC

From all the other comments in other threads about both Dillons and South Tec I don't think you can go wrong with either place. Dillons is a bit closer to Wilmington if that matters.
