Re: The G1000 project - "The next step"

Thanks a lot to all those involved in this great initiative ! Three questions : 1) will DAI Austrian management be involved as well? 2) @TwinStarScott, is there an alternative way to add aircrafts on your list? I fell we could add many more European aircrafts on the list, but it would be easier if ...

Re: The G1000 project - "The next step"

That's really odd story but it reflects today's situation and bad sides of monopoly position. Being pilot myself for 35+ years I can only confirm that such things didn't happen in the past. Since a meeting will be held in near future between DAI, Garmin and few participants of this forum, this issue...

Re: What to look for when purchasing used DA-42?

What’s the cost to replace 135 at TBR (2100) with same 135’s and cost to replace 155’s with new 155’s? Im hope the cost is much lower compared to initial upgrade since you don’t have to redo the mounts, etc... Quickly learning these airplane have some pretty expensive upgrades. Replacing CD-135 (an...

Re: What to look for when purchasing used DA-42?

1. TBR for new CD-135/155 engines is 2100 hours. The old Thielert 1.7/2.0 are 1500 hours. 2. For $160k you can get CD-155 engines with all other necessary parts and labor and new props. 3. Nobody can tell you precisely if it’s feasible or not and for how much because there are too many unclear detai...

Re: The G1000 project - "The next step"

Although only a small number of owners have joined the petition, approx. 350 DA40 TDI have been built. These owners are stuck since 2006 at GDU software version 5 without any chance to get a WAAS update (not even software!) from DA although newer software was available for DA40 produced in China. I...

What is interesting here is relation between TC and STC.

Re: Outdated Garmin G1000 software - petition sign-up

Sometimes it’s not easy to understand what and how can be installed in particular aircraft even if STC exists. Here are lists of aircrafts for which G500 and G500 TXi are STC’ed. http://www.airweb.faa.gov/Regulatory_and_Guidance_Library/rgstc.nsf/0/39027bde73b46d2586257c7700785544/$FILE/SA02015SE-D_...

Re: Dynon Avionics - seeking an alternative to Garmin

Thanks everybody. So we have 10 (+1 who PM’ed me data) aircrafts for now. Let’s expand this list to 20-30 to give Dynon the idea of potential market.

Re: Looking to purchase DA62

BTW I received a note from DAI that they would comment and disprove my statement on doubling prices of Mercedes injectors. However, after three weeks no comment and no reply either here on in my mailbox.
