Does anybody have an idea how many aircrafts are affected? AFAIK when FAA issues AD they usually supply estimate of cost and total cost for the fleet.

GFC700 equipped DA42 TDI will be eligible for CD-155 upgrade with Crosby’s STC from October 2019.

Mr. John Crosby (who developed STC for upgrading DA42 with CD-155 engines) will be at Oshkos and he’ll gladly meet any Diamond owner to discuss about future of our aircrafts and abilities to upgrade avionics and engines.

Since the question is posted in DA42 forum, I would assume OP flies DA42 :) DA42 POH specifies opening alternate air in icing conditions which means low temperatures (I would say slightly above 0C and lower) and visible moist. I encountered airframe icing anywhere from +2 to -25 degrees C. I don't ...
