Re: Max Takeoff RPM

@ Rich … that`s sounds like false installation of the governor shop. How was the low RPM limit then? must have been also too low? @ Bernie, in my opinion…. the simple adjustment of the detent … you can do yourself … you just need basic tools … securing paint … and one or two engine full PWR run up`s...

Re: Max Takeoff RPM

Just adjust the detent of the governor, I did the installation of the governor myself after overhaul and had to do it, with the VM1000 (steam gauge) the RPM is blanked out above 2700... but you have then (almost) 180 HP at full PWR, depending of the atmospheric condition of course. Re: BRS

I think adding a BRS to the DA40 needs a completely new certification process.
Especially in these new Boeing MAX FAA environments.
you know we look a bit jealous to the US with your agency … as we stick to our EASA Monster :scream: ….. hope you can keep your easy track

Re: DA50 base MSRP Guesstimate

Cirrus marketing is hard to beat but Diamond have two trumps: - their diesel-focus (wins by KO in markets where AVGAS is not so common and cheap as in the US) $- - the large pool of DA40 pilots waiting for a single engine upgrade. Especially in Europe is the AVGAS availability definitive an issue. ...

Re: Old codger "wisdom"

Diamond build a taildragger years ago, the motorglider HK36 Dimona and Super Dimona. I flew it frequently. When airborne it is a beautiful plane, a Diamond as we are used to. BUT on ground it was not. Taxing was a nightmare; backtrack on a narrow runway you have to get out and turn the tail by hand....
