Re: iPad Mini G6 - PIREP

This is the one I have currently, note the iPad mini can set under the panel reflection cover perfectly without interfering the flight control. iPad mini is better than the iPad Pro 10 inch I had before. Also, I noticed that the mount I had on the flight deck vibrates a lot during the flight. It’s ...

Re: iPad Mini G6 - PIREP

I got a 6 in the first week it was out. I just now received a notification from RAM of imminent release of a compatible cradle, similar to the ones provides for a large array of iPads. These cradles work the best for me. I will still use my pro 11 as primary, as it provides bigger target areas for ...

Re: Portable Hangar parking sensor

Greetings! This hangar does have a little slop, so tail drag won't work out very well  Cheers! Bryan, that is exactly the same setup I have been using for several years now - two lines extended well out from the hangar where the mains need to go. Your hangar looks almost identical to mine (exce...

Re: iPad in DA40

I found that trying to modify either of the older EZ roller cradles to suit the -6 to be impractical. The squared-off edges are a problem, as well as the positioning of the roller and its arm. At least for now the X-mount is the way to go. BTW “My Pilot Store” had by far the best price for this mou...

Re: iPad in DA40

I was at the avionics shop today and finally had the 1” RAM head mounted on the left lower panel following one of the schemes mentioned earlier. Then I used the two part RAM connector to hold the iPad mount. Result is better than the storm window mount. I can open the storm window to get some fresh ...

Re: Portable Hangar parking sensor

I use a tug to get in and out - gives me enough control - have about 8-10 inch clearance on each side. I also have an aiming line on the back wall of the hangar I made using black and white gorilla tape. So if I aim the top of the vertical fin at that line it really helps. That’s a smart thinking. ...

Re: Magnetometer (HDG) fails in flight, but works on ground

Bryan, I agree which route to take with such a intermittent issue is painful. I was trying to get my aircraft back on the line as quickly as I could and I also took your route to replace the GMU44, which ultimately did not solve the issue for me. I now have (what I think) a perfectly good GMU44 sit...
