Re: Closing on a DA42 on 19 SEP!

Makes me wonder if there's a way to get those upgrade to -VI from NG? Just curious :?: What's the detailed difference between the NG and -VI? Just curious :?: I have somewhere in emails exchanged with DAI: 1. NG can't be converted to -VI. 2. TDI can be converted to -VI but MTOW will be 1900 kg (or s...

Re: Emergency Landing in Texas

following... Would be interested to know the rational for forced landing with a single engine failure as the whole purpose of the extra engine is to make sure you don't land on the highway. AND this is a DA62!

Re: Closing on a DA42 on 19 SEP!

What's the detailed difference between the NG and -VI? Just curious :?: To the best of my knowledge, there's no way to convert an older DA42 airframe to full -VI specs. I asked the factory about it back before I purchased my NG and they said they couldn't do it. I think the main impediment is the ad...

fuel vent discoloration/marks

Noticed today after I parked my aircraft that there are some discoloration at the right wing fuel vent plate and I could also see a very slow leakage and bubbling from the fuel vent. I don't remember seeing this before and wonder if this is normal. I have attached some pictures as below for review. ...

Re: Fair price for a DA42 IV

I agree. I ran a Vref and found the price for the Da42 did go up exponentially. I find AOPA's Vref as a useful starting point for a conversation. Its far from perfect but not bad. My quick check on Vref say $780k. This does seem to reflect a significant increase in used plane prices in 2021. Stating...

Re: Fair price for a DA42 IV

Price for the diamond aircraft has been soar lately from what I understand, but a 7 years old Diamond DA42 with legacy G1000 system asking for $900k is hard to justify. I will keep on looking and hope to find a good unit with acceptable price range. For reference, I purchased my DA42-NG at the end o...

Re: Fuel Quantity Gauge failed

Follow up report on the fuel quality gauge issue. I followed clsuther's instruction today with some good result. I disconnect and reconnect those two connectors hiding behind the panel at the fuel sump site, turned on the power and found the fuel quality gauge to be functional. Temperature was 30 de...

Re: Fuel Quantity Gauge failed

Thanks for the advice, Dant! I haven't noticed any fuel contamination so far ( knock on wood). The gravity of the fuel contamination is well understood and that's has alway been a safety concern during my pre-flight check. I can see some particles suspended in the fuel and that could be some dirty f...
