Re: ATC Assigned Departure Procedures and ForeFlight

Did you try asking FF support? I just sent them an email, will report back with any advice. Hi Jonathan, Derrick here with the Flight Operations Team. For this departure procedure MER3, the runway transitions are defined as headings, or ATC assigned headings, then vectors to join assigned route. If...

Re: Current IFR rating?

FWIW, I bought a TD2 for use at home and find it to be much worse than just using MSFS sometimes. The DA62 isn't present as an available aircraft (nor is there any aircraft with similar speeds I can reference). Some knobs are modeled wrong (the PFD range button seems to be wired in reverse). It's ni...

DA62 Tow-bar

When I received my '62 there was a red tow-bar in the nose compartment with a black ball attachment. Every ground crew I've worked with has never seen something that accepts the black ball; they're used to a ring. 1) What is the black ball supposed to mate to? 2) Anyone know where I can purchase a d...

ATC Assigned Departure Procedures and ForeFlight

A couple weeks ago I took the DA62 on a cross half the country flight: KGYY-KDHT-KSGU-KAPC-KCPR-KGYY. On the KAPC-KCPR leg, ForeFlight told me to expect the MER3 departure procedure from KAPC. ForeFlight complained it was unable to find MER3, even though I can look it up manually under KAPC procedur...

Re: Manual tire pump and gauge

I use this the Makita DMP180ZX (https://www.makitatools.com/products/details/DMP180ZX) and keep it in the nose compartment. The battery has lot's of charge and I'll swap it with one of my tool batteries from home every month or so. It has a digital pressure set point, so you can just hold until it s...

Re: New Brakes, Tubeless Tires

Worth noting for the DA62, the Beringer STC is STC-021 and you can find them here: https://www.beringer-aero.com/en/complete-kits-stc

Re: DA62 or DA42

My Canadian build DA62 (62.C014) did not come with mounting holes with machine screws. Just plastic screws and a hole. I thought at first I got lucky but instead it was a pricy job to have them put in. Now, they work great and I love having them.

Re: G1000 Direct-To Weirdness

Yesterday I went up with a CFII to log some approaches and try to nip any bad habits that might be developing. We left KPAE and he vectored me north by KAWO to set up for the RNAV 34 procedure turn: https://www.flightradar24.com/data/aircraft/n787dm#2b17ffe5 I couldn't see this track log anymore so...
