Re: DA62 - the greatest GA aircraft ever built?

I think Steve said that YD could not be engaged without also engaging "the rest of the AP", i.e., some vertical and lateral mode also active at the same time. I think the discussion was about having only YD active, with no other lateral or vertical mode active. What I was trying to say is...

Re: Park Brake issue

From what I've learned, the parking brake is a one way check valve on the hydraulic lines to the brake caliper. So to use it, you must pressurize the line after applying the brake. When I first used my parking brake, I just applied the parking brake without pushing the toe brakes. I then suspect tha...

Re: Austro engine reliability and safety

Without going into too many specifics of the rumored incident, I heard of a 2017 DA62 that suffered from an engine failure shortly after delivery from the factory. Supposedly the aircraft was IMC at the time and had a complete loss of one of the engines. The aircraft landed safely; Diamond investiga...

Re: Simulator for a DA62

My biggest complaint with the RealSimGear is that is has a BC button for the GFC700 and no YD button. Would be nice to get a run with the proper button-ology for that price.

Re: London Factory PIREP

Any idea who I should reach out to if I already own one? I have my customs sticker but haven't been to Canada yet... Would love to show my 7 year old how the sausage was made.

Re: California to Carolina - Part 3: Starting back West

Great Videos, Wayne! I stoped in Dalhart, TX for my fuel stop between Chicago and LA since I heard the field restaurant had a great chicken fried steak, but alas it was no more... But my father tells me that the English Field House Restaurant at Amarillo and Shelby's at KTDW are a great places too.....

Re: New MSB about to be issued

My DA62 has both engines in group 4 :) FYI -- My serial #s were not in the list... so there's hope. Hopefully that's the complete list. Thankfully, I'm with UTMark, my Canadian build DA62's engines are both not on the list.. I personally think it's a good idea to go in for a 100 hour even though I ...

Re: Aircraft property tax assessment in California

What does that mean in california? Do you have to pay tax whenever it increases? Or just increases above a high watermark?

Re: Potential New DA62 Owner

My economics 101 training tells me that you must think it's approximately worth it otherwise you would sell and the price would adjust... therefore the new price must be reasonable.

Re: Quebec City Recommendations

I've also been wanting to fly to Quebec City before it freezes over again for the winter. I've got my customs sticker, my radio license, and I'm just looking for the right weekend. Would love any recommendations as well. Where did you see the negative comments at YQB?
