Re: Shutting up the gear warning while OEI

The previous owner of N157DA never shutdown the engine in flight and neither have I... I've also heard of too many gearbox and governor issues. I'll do this on a training aircraft and not the one I use to fly my family with.

Re: Best Place for initial training

Skill aviation Waukegan - good guys; did my 42 and 62 training They are in the northern Chicago area; I would agree. They taught me to fly multi in a '42NG and when I picked up my '62 they helped me with delivery and with initial training. I know they have had several customers who transitioned int...

Re: Newbie Question 1 - Flaps UP takeoff

I’m with you, Dave. Based on the discussion here, I decided to try a no-flaps takeoff yesterday and was surprised at the significantly higher back stick force required to rotate. The solution would be to set the pitch trim more nose-up than I do for Flaps1 takeoffs, of course. The stall warning hor...

I think it was a little bit of a BS generator for me just now... Question: How many gallons are in the inner, middle, and outer chamber of the main wing tanks on a DA62? Not the total, their individual capacities... Answer: According to the Diamond Aircraft website, the DA62 has a total fuel capacit...

Re: GDL 69A in New DA62

I have the 69A and the wx radar in my 62 and I use both. The radar give you a good view of the wx and groud clutter ahead of you and the SXM radio is nice for getting a good picture of not just wx radar from ground stations, but also all the other weather products provided. And occasionally some SXM...
