Re: Concorde Battery
Another consideration in preserving useful battery life is the final float charge voltage. Concorde has specified their voltage at 0.3 volts (in that area) higher than general aviation standards. (Probably higher SG as well.) They claim that greater battery life results from maintaining this voltage...

Re: Concorde Battery
Thanks Steve! I would swear that mine was 10AH. I'll check when I get to the hangar and post. I'm 40.876. Maybe they were cutting costs by the time they got to mine. Are you still on your original battery?

Concorde Battery
Does anyone have the model of the battery used in the 2007-08 XLS handy? Also, I recall that Concorde has a slightly higher amperage version that is also slightly heavier but has the same external dimensions. This would be a small plus for those of us with the aft CG problem. Has anyone looked into ...

Re: LED Landing / Taxi lights for the DA40
I haven't purchased but if the GE DS2 is a substitute, I see a price here of $23.50/pair. http://www.hidoutlet.net/hid-xenon-bulb ... QgodFgYA9A
I also see options for color temperature and warranty.

Re: DIY - MT PROPELLER REMOVAL
Thanks Rick & Rich!
It looks like mine is not an issue . . . for now. Nothing on the cowling or windscreen. I'm going to start watching more closely though.
I wonder how common this is?

Re: DIY - MT PROPELLER REMOVAL
Rick,
How much grease were you leaking? My MT always has a faint thin line of grease that makes it out a few inches on the front center of each blade before tapering to nothing. The IA I work with says its not significant. Have you always had a trace of grease or did it start more suddenly?

Re: Angle of Attack
Graham, I would be among the first to acknowledge that AOA is probably less useful on the DA40 than most GA aircraft. (Perhaps the DA20 as well but I haven't flown it.) Those of us who fly the 40 know how difficult it is to "create a surprise" in slow flight. My limited time in a 42 sugges...

Re: Angle of Attack
I was wondering about that. If the probe were small enough, it might share the pitot port. (There would be issues to manage.) Or, you might create another small port adjacent to and slightly overlapping the pitot port. That would facilitate routing the tubes. A better way would be a probe that has i...
